MondoChallenge Volunteer Projects

What MondoChallenge offers

Teach English abroadWe are committed to supporting development work in disadvantaged communities across the world. While we strive to provide the best possible support for our partner NGOs and charities overseas, we understand that volunteering abroad cannot be meaningful without considering the experience of the volunteer themselves.

We are dedicated to providing a professional and unbeatable service for career break volunteers that offers:

  • Career break programmes that offer volunteers who share our vision the opportunity to have a huge impact on underprivileged communities in the areas where we operate. By constantly monitoring and sourcing projects in genuine need we ensure that volunteers make a meaningful contribution to long-term goals, even in a short period of time.
  • A diverse range of carefully selected volunteer programmes that support over 100 different partner projects across 9 different countries, with options to teach English overseas, work in childcare abroad, work as an orphanage volunteer or support community development, among others. For a full list of the voluntary work we offer, please visit our Projects page.
  • A UK based team that has the expertise to provide unrivalled guidance and support throughout your career break experience. From planning, through to your return and beyond, we are always only a phone call or email away. We also have dedicated in-country teams, which give volunteers 24X7 support, helping them to settle in and make the most of their volunteer project.
  • A uniquely personal service. As a small, independent company we try to meet as many of our volunteers as possible and conduct in depth phone interviews to ensure that we pick volunteer work perfectly suited to you. We know your time is valuable and we will try our best to help you make the most of your career break abroad.

The MondoChallenge community

Volunary work abroadAs part of our personal career break service we like to keep in touch with our volunteers after they return. A volunteer project overseas can be a life-changing experience but it doesn’t need to end at the airport! Here are some of the ways we like to keep in touch:

Evaluation and Debrief

By speaking to each of our career break volunteers after they return, we can evaluate their experience of volunteering abroad with MondoChallenge. This allows us to make improvements to our programmes, both for future volunteers and for the communities our projects work in.

Contact with Future Volunteers

Many of our past volunteers are eager to share their experience of working and teaching overseas and can provide the best possible advice for prospective volunteers. By keeping in contact, MondoChallenge volunteers can also keep up to date on the progress of the voluntary projects that they contributed towards.

Teaching children abroadAnnual Reunion

Usually held in London, this is a great chance to catch up with friends you met during your career break travel or to meet volunteers from other volunteer programmes. Volunteers have previously attended from as far away as Malaysia, Italy, Spain and Ireland.

Newsletters

Our newsletters aim to keep you up to date with the latest news from MondoChallenge. Recipients can hear about the latest developments in our volunteering work, fundraising initiatives, and new partnerships abroad. You might even be persuaded to volunteer again!

Facebook

Facebook is a great way of keeping in touch with everything MondoChallenge. It’s also the perfect place to get in touch with other career break volunteers either before or after your placement abroad.
