MondoChallenge offers career break teaching projects abroad in Africa, Asia, South America and Eastern Europe. Education is a good way to use your career break to make a difference to overseas communities, as most developing countries experience a lack of good English teachers.
While teaching abroad, you can work either with children in primary schools or secondary school or with adult education. Depending upon your own skills and experience you could get involved with teaching English and/or Math and Sciences, if you prefer there are also opportunities to teach drama, arts and crafts, sports or music. The children are always keen to learn something new and volunteer always making attending school that little bit extra special for them. You will find them challenging and inquisitive, and the experience of living and working in a totally different culture will invigorate you to make it worthwhile to have taken a career break abroad.
While career break volunteers teaching abroad do not require any formal teaching qualifications, we do offer a teacher training weekend for those wanting to get some ideas on how to get started.For further information on the career break teaching programmes we offer please browse the list below:
